On Sunday November 8th 2020, Hans Veen suddenly passed away in his home in Almkerk, the Netherlands.
Many Magna Carta fans in The Netherlands knew Hans, because he regularly acted as driver and tourmanager and often as a special guest at concerts, where he usually sang and played his favorite song ‘Vincent’ by American singer-songwriter Don McLean.
Hans was also a very talented painter, especially popular for his beautiful portraits, like the one he made for Chris Simpson’s 70th birthday and recently Sir Paul McCartney. He was also a great stage actor and liked taking photos as well, also during Magna Carta concerts.
Chris Simpson wrote a loving memory for him (see this page).
Hans Veen was born on April 25th, 1948, he was 72 years old.
Hans will be missed by many, especially his son, grandchildren and his friends.
Thank you for everything Hans, Rest in Peace!

Message to Hans Veen’s friends on Facebook:
Dear family, friends, acquaintances and relations of Hans,
As many of you know, last Sunday, Hans passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep.
I am overwhelmed to read all your beautiful posts and comments about my father.
Unfortunately, only a limited amount of places is available to attend the ceremony live online. But, we hope to organise a memorial service in the course of 2021.
To anyone who would like to attend one or both, please visit the following link: https://hansveen.nl/heavenns
